Jawai, a small village located in the Pali district, Rajasthan is situated on the Jawai river. It has now become one of the most visited tourist place in Rajasthan. This area commonly referred to as Jawai Bandh due to a nearby dam on the river. Jawai Bandh was built by Maharaja Umaid Singh, then ruler of Jodhpur over an area of 500 sq km.
Jawai Bandh area is rich in its wildlife as you can witness here leopards, different species of birds, sloth bear, hyenas, crocodiles etc. The weather nearby Jawai always remains pleasant due to its location between the granite hills. Jawai Bandh has become a major hotspot for leopard sighting due to their large population in this area where you can witness them while just roaming or relaxing at granite hills.
