Fateh Sagar Lake

Created in 1362 and enlarged by Maharana Udai Singh II, Lake Pichola is the reason Udaipur sits where it does. Ghats, havelis and temples line its banks, with the island palaces of Jag Mandir and Jag Niwas (now the Taj Lake Palace) in the middle.
Boats leave from the City Palace jetty at Rameshwar Ghat and from Lal Ghat. The regular ride stops at Jag Mandir; the sunset slot is the one to book.
Entry to Lake Pichola: Boat ₹450–800 adult. Fees were last checked in October 2026 and change often, so confirm at the counter.
Lake Pichola timings: Boats roughly 10 am – sunset.
Time needed at Lake Pichola: 1–2 hours.
Best time to visit Lake Pichola: the last boat before sunset.
Lake Pichola is at Heart of the Old City, Udaipur, Rajasthan.
