On 29 May 2025, the city of Udaipur and millions across India marked the birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap, Mewar's greatest hero.
He is remembered for refusing to submit to the Mughal empire and for the Battle of Haldighati in 1576. Udaipur marks the day with processions, cultural programmes and tributes at the memorial on Moti Magri above Fateh Sagar.
